LICOS (Laboratory of Information and Communication Systems) is part of the School of Computer and Communication Sciences.
Our main research interests are in the broad area of information transmission and processing. The research spans from trying to answer questions about what is theoretically possible, to developing algorithms that can be used in practice. A particular recent focus has been on wireless networks where we have worked on information-theoretic limits as well as coding and signal processing algorithms suitable for wireless channels. A more detailed description of our research can be found here.
Prospective graduate students, please read this before sending us an email.
